How to Fake a Summer Time Glow

This is a simple and easy way to fake a summer time glow.  All you need is : 1) bronzer 2) light shade blush 3)Darker shade of that blush.   I used Mac Bronzer in refined golden and two mac blushes.  First I applied "Style" then I applied a light coat of "ambering rose"

Making faces by Kevyn Aucoin

I read about this book a while ago on "EmeraldC83" 's blog and it looked very interesting so I decided to check it out.  The book is AMAZING, I got it from the library but I am definately going to buy a copy of my own.  It breaks down EVERYTHING for you.  There are different pages for all different parts of the face, how to contour, and different looks that Kevyn has done and it explains it in very simplistic terms on how to achieve the look.

I recreated the "bombshell" Marilyn Monroe look ....

I love red lipstick but I am always so shy/timid to wear it out in public... Im gonna have to get over my fear though because I love the way that this look came out
I used the 88 warm palette on the eyes using a medium brown shade in the crease and a frosty white on the lid then I lined the tops of my eyes with a liquid liner, for the red lips I outlined my lips with a neutral/natural lipliner and then I used MACs amplified lipstick in "Dubonnet" - the book takes you step by step on how to create all the different looks this was so easy to recreate ... this book is definately worth investing in

Gray and Yellow 88 Palette

I know this is going to sound a little weird but at my job I always pass by the Domestic section of the store and ever since the summer I always see this throw pillow that has a color combination of yellow/gray/and white.  Something about the colors always catches my eye everytime i see it.  I always wondered how it would look on the eye.  So yea that was my inspiration for this look... I found that the colors on the pillow were almost exactly the same as the colors in Coastal scents 88 palette.

Some pics on my new found makeup journey

Playing around with foundation ( I spent most of the summer trying to find the perfect one... im still looking for one thats right for me ) ... I think here I was wearing Macs Mineralize Satin finish

A look inspired by a YOUTUBE video I watched from Makeupby TiffanyD ( I love her videosss!!!) .... I think this video was "Megan Fox Dramatic eyeliner" I def recommend watching it !!!

a light daytime eye using coastal scents 88 palette

I am obsessed with China glaze nailpolish... I loved this color during the summertime and was trying to make it more fall appropriate so I added some zebra print using Sally Hansen art pen ...

Messing around with the 88 warm palette ( I love this palette !) You can create some many different types of looks and still wear them at anytime of day
This was a pic of my makeup on my 21st birthday! (still using the warm palette but I added a hint of purple in the crease to add a little bit of spunk.... I LOVE PURPLE)

A look inspired by a GUESS Sign/Poster I saw in the mall... I loved how they combined the red lips with a smokey eye

Disregard the fact that my eyes do not match I was testing out two different eyeshadow looks but this one in Julieg's video is soooooo fun ... I wore it to my sorority event !!!!I think the pink and the teal sparkles look amzing together!

First FOTD!!!!

Hello Blogger land this is my first Face of the Day and I am superrrrexcited about becoming part of the makeup community that I have been watching from the outside since the summer!!!

In this face of the Day I used many proucts, two of my new favorrites are MAC eyeshadows from the Love Lace collection : 1) Pincurl 2) Hypnotizing ... I am obsessed with these two shadows and I have been using them almost every day since I got them on the day that they came out.  The two colors are so versatile and can be used in many different looks not only together but seperate also.  They are beautiful colors when put together and I first saw this in a YOUTUBE look on Amarixe's video.  I tried them together and was also interested in trying them seperate. Depending on what colors you put them with it changes the color of the shadow as well... For example I put Pincurl all over my lid and combined it with a Purple eyeliner and it really brought out the purple in the Pincurl and made it look like a completely different color.

So anyway now that I am done rambling I decided to do a look with both of these eyeshadows along with other things on my lid...

Formula for the FOTD

Eyes:
1) Place MAC "Pincurl" e/s all over the lid and above the crease with a flat shader brush
2) In the crease lightly put Too Faced "MoonBeam" e/s (dark color)
3) To add some depth Place Mac "Hypnotzing" e/s in the outer V of the eye and blend well with the other dark color and "Pincurl"
4) Place Covergirl "raisin" e/s  (or a dark cranberry color) in the crease and a little on the eyelid to blend with that pincurl
5) Line eyes with the black liquid liner of you choice
6) Curl Eyelashes and Prime the lashes if you choose or just apply your favorite black mascara ( I used rimmel mascara) /  Apply two coasts for a more dramatic and flirty effect
7) Tame eyebrows with a clear mascara
8) For  A brightening effect add a bit of white eyeline in the inner part of your eye (

Face:
1) Apply foundation :Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse in Sandy Beige in Medium Beige
2) Set foundation with Too Faced Candleight Gold Powder
3) Erase Dark cirlces with Mac Select Moisture cover in NW 25
4) Apply a Pink Pretty blush to apples of cheeks (I used Laura Geller Blush and Brighten in roseberry)

Lips:
1) Line and fill in lips with a pencil liner close to your lip color (I used MAC lip pencil in Spice)
2) Use a shiny gloss over the lips ( I used bath and body works Liplicious in Pineapple Juice)

I hope you enjoy!!!!

My first POST!!!!

Hi everyone,

My name is Nicole Marie I am a 21 year old currently working on my bachelors degree in psychology. I have always been interested in makeup and beauty but this summer I started watching beauty tutorials on youtube and now I am OBSESSED with all things beauty. My friends make fun of how much i enjoy makeup and Youtube but its a habit that i refuse to kick. My goal was to start a YOUTUBE page of my own, but it is a lot harder than it looks. ( i give props to all of the people who are doing it, I honestly look up to those people) But for now I figured while i was working out my difficulties of making videos I might as well start a blog page so I could share my thoughts with people, like myself, who are interested in all beauty things. So I hope I can share whatever knowledge I have picked up and I am hoping to learn more through this experience : )
